Scuba diving is a popular watersport–so popular that over 1 million people become certified scuba divers worldwide every year. It involves putting a heavy tank full of compressed air on your back and diving into deep water with a tiny rubber tube being the only thing that keeps you alive.
Before everything, you must determine whether you are physically fit to Scuba Dive. This does not only mean that you know how to swim then you can go diving. Scuba Diving is very tiring, so your swimming skills should be at a high level. If you have any health conditions then you should consult a doctor before going out diving.
One should be mentally fit too.. meaning not to panic easily when you come across a unknown specie or get into trouble when underwater. Whenever diving, you should always have such a “buddy,” someone who you’ll stick next to, and who will watch over you while you watch over him.
“Scuba” originally being an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Now everyone just prefers to use Scuba in short as it is simple and easier.
There are two types of Scuba Diving sets:
1) Open-circuit
Here the diver breathes in from the equipment and all the exhaled gas goes to waste in the surroundingwater. This type of equipment is relatively simple, making it cheaper and more reliable.
2) Closed-circuit
Here the diver breathes in from the set, and breathes back into the set, where the exhaled gas is processed to make it fit to breathe again.
Scuba is a form of underwater diving in which a diver uses a scuba set to breathe underwater for recreation, commercial or industrial reasons.
