As with the Coral Coast this relates mainly to highway transport which again consists of Pacific Transport and Sunbeam. The both have a continual run from east to west . The ‘stopping bus’ does exactly what it says, it stops wherever someone is standing on the road and that can be every 10 metres. There are express buses that only stop at designated points but sometimes they will refuse to stop at resorts.
Taxis are available in Pacific Harbour and there are plenty of them. Taxis will take you between major towns however it is quite expensive. Make sure you get a price before you get in.
If you like adventure then give the Viti Mini Buses a whirl. A fast and furious ride from Pacific Harbour to Suva will cost you $7.50 one way or the trip to Nadi is fifteen dollars. You can flag these down at the roadside if they have space left and they always seem to manage to jam another person in.
