Pacific Coast - Fiji's Adventure Captial

Situated along a gorgeous stretch of beach coastline south of the Coral Coast, lush and beautiful Pacific Coast is regarded as the “Adventure Capital of Fiji.’’

Pacific Coast was originally developed as a canal residential subdivision offering an alternative lifestyle to urban dwellers. Residents of Pacific Coast have an idealic lifestyle with some dwellings located on the manmade canal, on the river or overlooking the beach. Some residents are retirees while others commute daily to Suva to work.

Pacific Coast has a combination of locals and tourist dwellers which makes for an interesting combination of personalities and characters.

About 40 minutes drive from Fiji’s capital Suva, it is located opposite Beqa and Yanuca Islands, marine protected areas that have become renowned for coral and shark watching and feeding sites.

In fact Beqa Lagoon, named by famed oceanographer Jacque Cousteau as "The Soft Coral Capital of the World" is renowned for its world-class dive sites and Pacific Harbour has several dive operations that offer dive trips to the lagoon.

Although shark feeding is the number one adventure sea activity, wreck dives, coral dives, and pelagic fish dives also attract interest from both tourists and locals.

  Surf 'n Turf

Pacific Coast offers a varied range of accommodation, from 5-star resorts and home stays to private villa rentals and backpacker accommodation.

First Class surfing
For surfing fanatics, there are waves relatively close to the area that will restore your body’s required levels of adrenalin.
Not saying that other activities available in the area are less exciting but surfing at “Frigate’s Passage”, situated close to Yanuca Island, will certainly have the heart pumping. This is the domain of experienced surfers who no doubt will be able to handle the big barrels and long rides.

Fiji has a number of world class surf spots and this is definitely up there amongst them.

And you've got to have a crack at The Uprising's horse surfing (left) while in the neighborhood!

A Great Golfing Experience
Those of us with a liking for a good round of golf can take heart from what “The Pearl Championship Gold Course’’ has to offer.
Golf is such a great way to unwind and Pacific Coast provides one of the best golf courses in the country. The breathtaking scenery, the crisp clean country air and tranquility, coupled with the excellent greens will probably leave you gunning for a hole in one.

The Robert Trent Jones Jnr designed course has attracted many seasoned pros over the years and interestingly this was where the legendary Greg Norman won his first major tournament.
The course, which includes 66 bunkers and multiple water hazards is set amongst winding canals and lush tropical rainforests.

Irrespective of where you finish after the day’s game, this relaxing, but challenging (that’s Irish) course will leave you feeling like a winner.
