Honeymoon me - Secret video scores Townsville couple a dream romantic Fiji wedding experience

15 September 2009 - Townsville couple Steve Mazzer and Lisa Murphy are off to Fiji to celebrate their wedding and a truly romantic honeymoon – and its all thanks to Tourism Fiji.

The couple have beaten off strong opposition from right around the world to win the ‘dream Fiji wedding and honeymoon’ package on offer as part of a recent Tourism Fiji online promotion designed to showcase Fiji’s stance as one of the world’s most romantic overseas wedding and honeymoon destinations.

The couple “stumbled” across the Tourism Fiji promotion while researching information on how to get married overseas.

Unbeknown to Lisa, Steve who works as a breakfast presenter on local radio station Zinc, decided to take part, secretly filmed himself on his mobile phone telling everyone how perfect Lisa is and why he loves her so much before submitting his video in the hope of landing first prize in the promotion – an eight-day luxury Fiji wedding and honeymoon package.

Steve’s video made the cut as one of the best 10 videos to be received and, after more than 211.000 viewers from around the world has cast their votes, his clip was named the best.

The couples’ prize includes return airfares ex-Australia flying Air Pacific, three nights and a traditional Fijian wedding package at Namale Resort & Spa in Savusavu, three nights at Likuliku Resort and two nights at the Radisson Fiji Resort Denarau Island.

Rosie Holidays has also joined the party providing VIP meet and greet services for the couple as well as chauffeur driven transfers while Pacific Island Seaplanes are supplying the Nadi-Likuliku transfers.

Steve and Lisa, who works in administration at James Cook University, both admit to still being in shock at having won the prize.

For a very long time, Lisa has been fascinated with the romance of a beach wedding on the shores of Fiji and when she told me, I thought it was perfect too - an intimate marriage in a tropical wonderland followed up with our honeymoon in an idyllic setting.

“So we set about gathering information, going to travel agents, looking at brochures, getting ideas about what our wedding may be and that’s when we stumbled across the Tourism Fiji website.

“And there it was, the ultimate wedding package just asking to be won. All that had to be done was record a video and hope and pray for the best.

“So without Lisa’s knowledge, I grabbed my phone and recorded a video telling everyone why she was so perfect and why I am so madly in love with her - and the rest is history.”
